It’s no secret that 97% of marketers struggle to make money online.
That doesn’t mean that success is impossible. The remaining 3% of the statistic, after all, have done it. Now, the million dollar question is how do you stop struggling and belong to the top 3%?
The answer seems obvious. Follow what successful marketers do and you should be on your way. But it’s always easier said than done.
In a recent interview, Matt Lloyd, CEO and founder of MOBE “My Online Business Education”, answers key questions that have hounded marketers, both experienced and amateurs, at one time or another.
Just like the rest of us, he also struggled and was not making money as a marketer during his first two years in the business. He’s been there and done that. He knows exactly how it is to struggle and how to stop doing so. I
In a few short years, Matt has taken MOBE form a small $700 / month startup (and yes, out of his basement) to over $2 Million / month and still growing.
Below is some of his best advice if you want to finally stop struggling and become a successful online marketer.
Do not be a Jack of all trades
While we all love to multi-task, this is not the best approach when trying to carve your way towards online marketing success. One of the main reasons why people fail is because of trying to do way too many things at once or learning too many skills at once.
You’re probably receiving 20 different email marketing schemes from 20 different gurus. Having those many choices can be paralyzing not to mention confusing. Before you knew it, you’ve already detoured to another direction even if you haven’t given one thing enough time to actually start working first.
To stop struggling, you need to snap out of this trap says Matt. You can’t build a website one day, blog the next day then focus on video marketing another day. You need to focus instead on simplifying things. Rather than learn everything, focus on mastering one skill at a time. Once you’ve given one skill or one strategy enough time to work only then should you move on to the next.
Find a high-converting offer
One of the best ways to simplify things is to find a high quality and high converting offer to promote. All you need to do after which is generate traffic to that offer. This may sound ridiculously simple and misleading but this exact strategy has worked like a charm for Matt.
By opting for a high converting offer, the offer will practically sell itself. Your only job is to master one method at a time that will generate consistent traffic. You may enroll for a course, attend webinars or watch training videos. In any case, the bottom line is mastery. And going back to advice #1, never learn too many traffic methods all at once. For Matt, he wouldn’t try to learn traffic method #2 unless traffic method #1 has generated him traffic that led to consistent sales.
The strategy makes perfect sense and may just be the answer to your struggles as an online marketer. Why not give it a try?
Learn the art of leverage
Running a business online usually takes hours a day to manage. But if you only have one hour a day to spare, you can still become a successful online marketer. It’s a matter of making the most of every minute by focusing your energy on the most important things. It’s going to be tough but it’s possible. You just need to make sure that all your activities within that hour are highly leveraged. In short, focus on activities that move the business forward and bring in the money.
For example, if you’re doing affiliate marketing and assuming that you have a good offer to promote, you’d want to spend that hour generating traffic. Because you don’t have enough time on your hands, you should go for paid traffic like pay per click (PPC) rather than free traffic methods. You should also take advantage of outsourcing. You can spend maybe 10 to 20 minutes daily to outsource menial tasks to a virtual assistant.
Research and compare offers
With so many offers in the market, how do you choose the best ones to promote? Like with any aspect of life, go with something you feel good about. Provided that the product is making other people happy, chances are high that it’s going to be around for a long time. So pick something in sync with what you are passionate about.
At the same time, you should also look at the numbers or earnings per click (EPC). Compare products according to EPC and obviously go with one that pays out better than others. Knowing the numbers, however, may take time. You’ll need to go on tests, spend money and time to promote the offer. Furthermore, you’ll need to consider things such as size of the commissions and testimonials.
Find a business model that works
This advice is tied to finding a high converting offer. Whether you’re starting from scratch as a beginner or as an experienced marketer who lost it all, starting with a good company to promote is a good way to kick things off. You need a vehicle or business model that has been proven and tested other by other people. Then you should start building your list either by creating a lead capture page (e.g. leadpages.net) or by capturing email by paid traffic.
The secret is to build the list as quickly as possible once you find the right company. You can then email your subscribers strategically. Make sure every email has an offer.
Also helpful is to establish other mode of communication with your list. A webinar, for example, is one way to promote offers. Either way, your bottom line is to help your list get to the front end product of the company you are with.
Evaluate your activities
Many marketers continue to struggle for years because they fail to do this step. It doesn’t have to be that way anymore. Though your situation will not change overnight, you’d be better off evaluating what you are doing as a marketer on a day to day basis. Always make it a point to observe your activities. Maybe you are wasting too much on a marketing method that doesn’t really work. By evaluating, you’ll know how to shift your focus on activities that bring in revenues.
In online marketing, the first sale or the first commission is always the hardest. But once you know what works, everything pretty much follows after that. The trick is to zero in on activities that get you direct results or sales in short. If it works then do it again and again.
Naturally, Matt Lloyd recommends MOBE if you’re looking for a business model that’s been around for years with enough testimonials to prove its potential. People like Shaqir Hussyin, Chris Prefontaine and even retirees such as Deborah Robertson have proven the business model to work.
Since MOBE was started in 2011, the company has grown into a multi-million dollar business offering affiliate and license plans to people from all walks of life. But because it has rapidly grown so much in the past years, one pressing issue that seems to pop everywhere is the company’s saturation point. Will it ever get to point that the business is too saturated that you won’t make more sales anymore?
According to Matt, saturation will not be an issue. As long as people are looking for more ways to make money especially in the online realm, MOBE is not going anywhere. As long as there are people who are dissatisfied with their jobs and who want to make more money, opportunities like MOBE hold great potential.
What MOBE has accomplished thus far is just a drop in the ocean. If other direct selling companies that have been around for decades are still finding new customers, MOBE can do the same especially since marketers are always replenishing. It’s not slowing down either. Marketers are becoming top earners in the business in a matter of two months and you might be the next top earner too which will then finally put an end to your endless struggle as an online marketer.
If you have read this far, then you are looking for an online business solution. Having tried several options myself, I would highly recommend you start with MOBE. Once you get your business into profit mode, you can apply that knowledge to other online businesses and offers.
MOBE, in my opinion, is the best place to start if you want to see faster results.
Step 1: Take the MTTB “My Top Tier Business” training program. It is only $49 and will save you a lot of headaches and long hours trying to figure out the online business world.
Step 2: Apply what you learn either in your current business and/or the MOBE “done for you” business plan.
Step 3: Rinse and repeat and keep refining your offers and services.
